About the Blog & the Author

My novel, Life as a Teenage Mutant, delivers a gritty coming of age story. It’s written for the not-so-faint-of-heart young adult:

For twelve-year-old Abby, living in a rural town with her parents, her sister Dawn, and the occasional wayward cow, life in the early eighties is simple if not boring. That is until her parents have a gig out-of-town, Dawn has a party, and a family friend creeps into Abby’s room and rapes her. Abby struggles through middle and high school with a dysfunctional
family, an eating disorder and abusive relationships, all in a drug induced haze. When Abby’s gotten clean and brave enough to go to the police, the man is charged with her rape. All’s well that ends well. Except…after the charges are laid, her abuser takes matters into his own hands
.

Dare to join Abby on the ride to meet her boogeyman and come through on the other side? She’d be glad to have you along – Abby Brooks can use all the friends she can get.

Noelle Bickle is a writer and creative writing instructor.  Life as a Teenage Mutant is her first novel and she is waiting - albeit impatiently – to have it on the shelves of a bookstore near you! She lives in the boonies with her husband, children, fun-loving golden retriever, and murderous cat they rescued from life in a ice-cold barn. She is currently working on her next YA novel, another gritty coming of age story – Beautiful Mess.

She is determined to slay the dragons in real life, redefine normal and to spill the truth about growing up resilient in the midst of adversity.
